Fatal Fall on Mount Tilicho in Nepal
Wire services report Josef Alois Kasbaure, a 38-year-old radiologist from Wange, Germany, fell about 200 meters (650 feet) into a crevasse on Oct. 27 at an elevation of 6,600 meters (21,650 feet), while climbing 7,134-meter (23,400-foot) Mount Tilicho in Nepal.

Boston.Com reports The Forest Service is warning hikers in the White Mountains to pay careful attention to avalanche dangers. Officials say the especially wet weather last month has created conditions not normally seen until mid- to late-winter.

Fatal Fall at Lake of the Woods Escarpment in Michigan’s Porcupine Mountains
The Ironwood Daily reports Joseph Westbrook died after falling 150 feet from the Lake of the Clouds Escarpment in Michigan’s Porcupine Mountains. He had been reported missing on Oct. 4 but was found on Oct. 23.
Woman Falls 35 Feet Down Ravine on Laurel Falls Trail in Smokies
The Knox News reports a 60-year-old woman fell 35 feet down a ravine while hiking the paved Laurel Falls trail about six miles west of the Sugarlands Visitor Center when she fell about 35 feet.
