Various reports indicate five people died in recent accidents in the Alps including 3 fatalities on Mont Blanc and Eiger.
Irish Online reports three French climbers fell 1,300 feet while climbing the Mont Blanc range. They were members of a LeMans alpine club.
AFX reports three Japanese climbers roped together fell into a creavasse on Eiger. Two fell 132 feet while the third arrested the fall. One of those falling into the crevasse survived.
Val d’Herens fell to his death on Mont Collon (3,637 metres).
