Update Feburary 3, 2004:
This is being discussed in our Forum and it was reported to Snopes to see if it is an urban legend. Snopes still calls it “undertermined” but notes there earlier was Czech story along the same lines that was mailed across Europe. A Slovak News Agency has never heard the story.

Ananova Quirkies reports that a Slovak man peed his way out of an avalanche. Richard Kral told authorities that his Audi was buried in the Slovak Tatra mountain and tried to escape through the window. When he couldn’t he drank a beer to contemplate his situation and discovered that if he pushed the snow below the window level he could pee on it to melt it. Happily he had 60 half-litre bottles of beer in the car. He was found drunk four days later. Parts of Europe have this week been hit by the heaviest snowfalls since 1941, with some places registering more than ten feet of snow in 24 hours
