The most scenic approach is from Grayson Highlands State Park up the Wilburn Ridge trail to Rhododendron Gap and back on the Mt. Rogers spur through the Lewis Fork Wilderness.  A much faster but much less scenic approach is from Elk Garden.  There are a maze of trails but they are well marked.
