Pneumonia Kills Most of Custer State Park's Bighorns

KELO reports an outbreak of pneumonia has killed 175 of Custer State Park’s 200 Bighorn Sheep. It is believed to have been contracted from domestic sheep (which don’t get sick). The state may transplant more bighorns to replace them and suspend this year’s hunting season that offers three licenses for bighorn rams in the park.

62 Bighorn Sheep Released on Borah Peak

Buckmasters Online reports 62 bighorn sheep from Montana have been released at Borah Peak. The bighorns were captured near Augusta, Montana. Helicopters flew over the animals, and nets were shot over the ewes selected for transplant. Every animal is outfitted each with ear tags and a radio collar.
