The Ride Around Mount Rainier in One Day (RAMROD) is held each July. The bicycle course ifeatures 10,000 feet of climbing over 154 miles. It is sponsored by the Redmond Cycling Club and has about 800 cyclists .

Timberline Lodge is considering lift-assisted mountain biking that lifts to the top of a system of trails and then ride down during the offseason (July to October) However it is running into considerable opposition over the impact on the structure which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Mount Hood Cycling Classic is June 1-6. This year’s course had to have some course changes because of unplowed snow on part of the original course. The course closest to the mountain itself is Stage 4 Wy’East Road Race (named for the original name for the mountain)

Mark Beaumont bicycled around the the world in a record 194 days and 17 hours in 2008. In 2009, he biked the American Cordillera – the longest mountain range on the planet. Included on the adventure were climbs of McKinley and Aconcagua.
