A climber apparently broke a leg after falling on the Hogsback on Mount Hood on July 7. Conditions on the mountain is described as “solid snow covered in ice.”

A woman fell 20 feet into a sink hole under the snow near the Jackson Visitor Center on Mount Rainier on June 18 in a freak accident. The woman fell 10 feet through snow to the top of a transformer and then another 10 feet to the ground.
Reports indicate that 29-year-old Lawrence Dahl spent the night on Hood after getting separated from his friends above Timberline Lodge. He was searched for all night and footprints were found 6 a.m., and Portland Mountain Rescue volunteers found Dahl near Enid Lake.
Other groups participating were Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, Mountain Wave Communications, Hood River Crag Rats, Benton County and American Medical Response
