Rotating Movie of Woodall Mountain, Mississippi, Summit

It might be argued that the only hill in all of Mississippi is Woodall Mountain. It’s virtually the only hill on the entire Iuka Quad which encompasses alot of the Tennessee Valley lowlands. Consequently, the hill is very striking and dominating. Here’s a map (exaggerated 3.5X) generated by 3DEM with an overlay of the Iuka Quad. The map briefly has a blur. WARNING: 1.6 meg mpg file. Rotating 3D Analyph Movie of Hawaii Island

This 3D anaglyph movie of Hawaii Island was generated by 3dem and is based on USGS DEM data downloaded from geoarchive.net It dramatically shows the difference between the massive and smooth Mauna Loa and the more compact although taller Mauna Kea. 3D anaglyph glasses used to be hard or quirky to find. But since the NASA used anaglyphs on its Mars mission (americasroof was actually consulted on this!!!) there are plenty of places to buy 3D anaglyphs. They are relatively cheap. This is a 3D anaglyph movie of Taum Sauk generated by 3Dem. The starting point is a view from the south. The mountain is exaggerated 4X. Taum Sauk’s summit is flat and sort of resembles an elephant. If you have red-blue anaglyph glasses this image is stunning! WARNING: 1.5 Meg Movie
