Denali National Park is in the process of restoring the cabin/office of its first superintendent Henry P. “Harry” Karstens. Karstens built the cabin by hand in 1926. The park was established in 1917.

June Snow on Mount Washington

Mount Washington Observatory reports 1.8 inches for new snow on the summit on June 8-9 with winds sometimes hitting 100 mph. Mount Washington had 8.1 inches for the month in 1959 adn 5.1 inches fell in one day in 1988.
