Rangers rescued a man and woman from Quebec on Monday, April 26 after they fell 50 meteres after they had raveled over the Muir Snowfield and between Muir Rock Anvil Rock on Mount Rainier. After being pulled from the crevasse they hiked to Camp Muir where they were airlifted off the mountain.
The two Morand and Simon Brunet said later that one of the most unexpected events after they fell was that they had to spend the night in the crevase and had to keep the freshly falling snow off the tent. They had walked up the Muir Snowfield in whiteout conditions and fall onto the Cowlitz Glacier.
