The Rocky Mountain News reports that three weekend snowshers rescued a 73-year-old ill-prepared man lost on Mount Evans and then used their flight itinerary to start a fire.
The man and his son had spent a night in a cave after geting lost.
The son going for help ran into the snowshoers at the Chief Mountain trailhead. After calling 911, the snowshoers went two miles down the trail where they met the father. They started a fire with the itinerary and waited for the Alpine Rescue Team.
