Taos Proposes Ski Lift to 12,466 Kachina Peak on Edge of Wheeler Wilderness

Taos Ski Valley is proposing building a new ski lift — the Mainstreet Lift — to the summit of 12,466 foot Kachina Peak (on the edge of the Wheeler wilderness). It would be one of the highest ski lifts in the United States and would offer a vertical drop of 3,500 feet (only 3 Colorado resorts have bigger).
